We have been in Uruguay for about three weeks and it is getting to be about "that time of the month" for one of us. This wouldn't warrant a mention except for the fact that Kristina would like some tampons and we have recently learned that for reasons unknown to us, tampons are very rare in Uruguay. There is one brand (OB without applicators) that can be found in a few pharmacies, but other than that... it's a pad country. We write this not solely as a complaint (though it is a bit of a disappointment), but more to inform any female considering spending 25 or more days here.
