Central Perk

After a much needed lazy morning and a cup of coffee, we motivated to venture out of the East Village and explore Central Park.  The park is 2.5 miles long, 0.5 miles wide, and is set right in the center of the Big Apple.  For someone with a recovering heel, the park is daunting.  We found a beach volleyball court, Tavern on the Green (under reconstruction), the reservoir, the lake, the various bike and running paths, lawn bowling and croquet lawns, basketball and tennis courts, and finally, the pool.  The fact that entrance to the swimming pool in Central Park is free does not make it worth it.  It is so poorly run that swimming laps is too frustrating to justify the effort.  We managed about ten minutes and decided a trip to Costco was time better spent.  Here is a professional photo of the park and one that we took.  You can decide for yourself which is which...
