Sábado Mercado

As part of our Saturday tradition here in Uruguay, we visited the Punta Carretas farmer’s market for some much needed produce.
While not the freshest or the cheapest, it is definitely better than Pupukea Foodland or any supermarket we have found here in Montevideo for buying fruits and veggies.  Also at the market one can find raw meats, cheeses, eggs, olives and spices as well as clothes, jewelry, and souvenirs.  It is also the only place that we have found where you can buy pimiento picante (hot chile peppers)!!
