Ciao Montevideo

Thanks to our Montevideo booking agent, Maria, we found an agency in Cape Town to represent us and have made the move from Uruguay to South Africa. Before we said goodbye to South America, we made a “quick” trip up to see the famous Iguazu Falls in Argentina. The trip consisted of 3 different buses and a total of 30ish hours travel time each way. It was all worth it! The falls were amazing! In two days, we hiked most of the trails (on the Argentinean side) for some great views of the falls,
took a boat ride down into the falls (where we were SOAKED by the pounding sheets of water),
and saw a Coati (which is a creature that looks like a mixture between an anteater and a raccoon).
Fortunately, we happened to be at the falls during a full moon and we bought the last two spots on a moonlight walk and buffet dinner package. The walk took us out to the main attraction on the Argentinean side of the falls called Garganta Del Diablo (Devil’s Throat) where we saw the falls completely lit up by the moon!
Before boarding our bus from Iguazu to the Buenos Aires airport, we stopped in for dinner at a restaurant called Parilla and Pizza Color for, by far, the BEST meal we have had in South America. We had a beef and veggie empanada, a local river fish and veggie empanada, and a bbq’d veggie plate with eggplant, peppers, carrots, squash, zucchini, tomatoes, and onions (which Kristina even liked). We definitely recommend stopping in for a bite to eat if in the area.
We are now in Cape Town, South Africa and, although it is very difficult to find wifi, we are very happy to be here. The water is clear, many people speak English, and there is a great variety of food…even spicy!!!

Hey Kristina- It's Victoria from 'The Penny'- I randomly came across the penny's business card you wrote your blog down on for me today. Decided to find out where you were in your travels. You are so lucky to be able to do this! I have been long gone from the penny and now working for Citibank's attorneys as a paralegal, but I am looking at your photos living vicariously through you! I hope all is well, safe travels and much success :) Take care xo
